On the evening of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Hamilton Police officers on routine patrol identified a vehicle of interest in the city’s east end.
When officers attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to stop. A short time later, the vehicle was involved in a collision. The driver was taken into custody and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate and is now leading the investigation. In accordance with provincial legislation, Hamilton Police cannot comment further on the police interaction.
