Spike belt and K9 used for recent arrest in Hamilton

Quick thinking and teamwork were on display during a recent arrest on the east Hamilton mountain.
On Monday March 17, 2025 Hamilton Police were proactively patrolling local St. Patrick Day celebration hotspots when officers spotted a stolen vehicle being driven in the area of Upper Mount Albion Road and Highland Road. Officers quickly deployed a spike belt which brought the vehicle to a safe and complete stop. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot, but was quickly located and arrested with help from the K-9 unit.
In addition to being in possession of the stolen automobile, the suspect was also violating a release order for a previous charges.
The suspect, a 45-year-old female from Ohsweken, was charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00
- Dangerous operation
- Flight from Police
- Fail to comply with release order x 2
