Two Firearms Seized after Mountain Dispute Investigation

A neighbour dispute almost turned deadly during an argument on the Hamilton Mountain.
On Monday April 21, 2025, at approximately 12:00pm Hamilton Police were called to a residence near the area of Mohawk Road and Upper Ottawa Street for a report of a firearm.
Officers arrived and met with two parties who had engaged in a physical fight with one another. During the fight, a third party brandished a firearm at the victim and suggested that he return home. The victim complied without further issue. The suspect then fled in their vehicle.
Police canvassed the area and were able to determine the suspect’s identity and residence. The 30-year-old male of Hamilton was arrested and charged with the following:
- Point Firearm
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
- Prohibited Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Possession Contrary to Order
Search warrants were conducted at the residence and on the suspect’s vehicles. Officers located two firearms and added the appropriate charges.
