UPDATE: Arrest Made in 2024 Fatal Collision on LINC

On Friday October 11, 2024 at approximately 2:33 pm, a collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway just east of the Upper Gage Avenue overpass, in the City of Hamilton.
A Toyota RAV4 SUV with four occupants seated within was travelling eastbound on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway at a high rate of speed. Additionally, a Ford Focus sedan with three occupants seated within was also travelling in the same direction at a high rate of speed.
The Ford Focus collided with the Toyota RAV4 which caused the Toyota to lose control and roll before coming to rest in the eastbound lanes of the highway. The Ford Focus then fled the scene.
One of the passengers of the Toyota RAV4 was transported to a hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Another passenger suffered serious injuries while the driver and fourth passenger sustained minor injuries.
The occupants of the Ford Focus were uninjured. The driver attended the Police Station shortly after.
After a lengthy and thorough investigation, the Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has arrested the driver of the Ford Focus. Ezatullah Haidari, 20-year-old male from Hamilton, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Dangerous Operation Causing Death
- Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm
- Criminal Negligence Causing Death
- Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm
