UPDATE: Arrests made in Zachary Shuman Homicide

Hamilton Police have arrested two individuals responsible for the shooting death of Zachary Shuman.
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, shortly after 5:00 pm, Hamilton Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of 77 Governor’s Road, Dundas.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 25-year-old Zachary Shuman of Dundas, unresponsive. Despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Shuman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, police identified two suspects.
On Sunday, August 10, 2025, 30-year-old Andrew Kowalik of Dundas was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
On Monday, August 11, 2025, 27-year-old Mussie Gebremariam of Kitchener was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
Both accused were known to the victim. They appeared in court on August 11, 2025, and were remanded into custody.
