The Hamilton Police Service has charged an 85-year-old male in connection with a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Upper Ottawa Street last month.
On Thursday, December 18, 2025, the driver was charged with Careless Driving Causing Death under the Highway Traffic Act. He was served with a summons and is scheduled to appear in court in February 2026.
The charge stems from a collision that occurred shortly before 10:00 am on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the intersection of Upper Ottawa Street and Anson Avenue. An 83-year-old male was walking his dog westbound in the crosswalk when he was struck by a red, four-door sedan travelling northbound.
