The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has concluded its investigation into a fatal collision that resulted in the deaths of both the driver and passenger of one vehicle. Investigators have determined that impaired driving and speed were contributing factors in this tragic incident.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 6:35 pm, Hamilton Police responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision on Upper Centennial Parkway.

A 1951 Plymouth travelling southbound on Upper Centennial Parkway from Highland Road accelerated, lost control, and collided with a northbound 2020 Mercedes SUV. The driver and passenger of the Plymouth were pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of the Mercedes was transported to hospital and later released with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries.

Toxicology results revealed that the driver of the Plymouth was impaired by alcohol.

This incident marks Hamilton’s fourth fatal impaired-driving-related collision of the year, resulting in eight lives lost.
