The Hamilton Police Service has located and charged an individual who failed to return to a medical facility while on a day pass.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton – West 5th Campus reported that Barry Dip had failed to return from an authorized day pass. Dip was expected to return to the facility by 9:00 pm
A Form 49 committal warrant had been issued for Dip, and Hamilton Police began actively searching for him after he was last seen on foot in the area of West 5th Street in Hamilton.
On March 4, 2026, Hamilton Police Detectives located Dip in Grimsby and arrested him without incident.
As a result of the investigation, charges are pending for Barry Dip.
