Update: Hunter Street Homicide

On Sunday March 16, 2025 at approximately 3:45 pm the Hamilton Police Service were dispatched to a 9-11 call in the area of Hunter Street East and Spring Street.
Upon arrival, Officers located a male victim on the porch of his home suffering from a stab wound. Moments later, Officers interacted with a 30-year-old suspect inside the home and the SIU has invoked their mandate as a result. The victim of the stabbing succumbed to their injuries and the Homicide Unit was called in to continue the investigation.
Police have identified the stabbing victim as 74-year-old Charles James Francis Jouvence commonly called Jacques by his friends and family.
