Update: Pedestrian suffers injuries after vehicle accident

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at approximately 8:41a.m, Hamilton Police were called to a collision involving a pedestrian at Emerald Street North and Keith Street.
An 11-year-old female pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk of Emerald Street North when she was struck by a blue Ford Mustang traveling westbound on Keith Street. The vehicle proceeded through the intersection and struck the young girl, pinning her between the vehicle and a building.
The 11-year-old female was transported to hospital with life altering injuries. The driver of the Ford Mustang was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After a thorough investigation, the Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has determined that the driver of the Ford Mustang experienced a medical episode and was unable to avoid the 11-year-old female. As a result, no charges will be pursued.
