(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one person with impaired driving after receiving a traffic complaint.

On Sunday April 12, 2026, at approximately 10:20 am, members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on William Street, West Nipissing.

The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Andre GAGNON, 39 years old, from West Nipissing was charged with, - Operation while impaired - alcohol

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 7, 2026, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
