ATV OPERATOR IS CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one person with impaired driving after conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, at approximately 7:45 pm, members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Highway 64, West Nipissing.
An operator of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), Justyn LARENTE, 45 years old, from River Valley was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other drugs
- Driving while under suspension
- Operate unsafe vehicle
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 3, 2026, in North Bay.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
