A TRAFFIC COMPLAINT RESULTED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one person with impaired driving charges after a Good Samaritan made a traffic complaint.
On Monday March 30, 2026, at approximately 9:00 pm, members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle stuck in the snow in a parking lot on Third Street, West Nipissing.
Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, then transported them to the OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Christopher BOYD, 44 years old, from West Nipissing was charged with, operation while impaired - alcohol and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 7, 2026, in North Bay.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
