TRAFFIC STOP WITH AN E-BIKE RESULTED IN DRUG CHARGES

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested one person with drug related offences.
On Tuesday April 28, 2026, at approximately 1:40 am, members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop with a E-bike operating at night without any lights on Nipissing Street, West Nipissing.
As a result of the investigation the driver, Joseph NIXON, 49 years old, from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with, - Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in property obtained by crime
- Fail to wear proper helmet on power-assisted bicycle
- Improper lighting on motor assisted bicycle
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 14, 2026, in North Bay.
