A TRAFFIC STOP WITH A UTV RESULTED IN THE DRIVER CHARGED

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged the driver of a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) after conducting a traffic stop.
On Friday April 10, 2026, at approximately 7:35 pm, members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, responded to a traffic complaint about a UTV driving around in the Cache Bay area, West Nipissing.
The vehicle was located and stopped by police. The driver was found to be both a prohibited and suspended driver and was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Richard WHITE, 47 years old, from West Nipissing was charged with, - Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Driving while under suspension - four counts
- Number plate improperly displayed
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 7, 2026, in North Bay.
The vehicle was impounded for 45-days at the cost of the vehicle owner.
