(HALDIMAND COUNTY) - A driver is facing multiple charges following a report of a possible impaired driver in Haldimand County.
On April 17, 2026, at approximately 5:30 pm, members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a business on Highway 6, Haldimand County.
The investigation determined that the vehicle was involved in multiple minor collisions while it travelled into the area. The vehicle was located by police at a local business, and the driver was taken into custody.
Andrew PALERMO, 40-years-old from Selkirk has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available
- Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Container of Liquor
- Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on May 19, 2026.
