(HALDIMAND COUNTY) - Seven drivers are facing court dates for alcohol or drug related driving offences in Haldimand County.

On May 4, 2026, at approximately 1:50 am, members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-vehicle collision on Cross Street in Dunnville.

Dalton GRANDIN, 21-years-old of Dunnville has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Disobeying Order of Court

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 23, 2026.

On May 4, 2026, at approximately 10:35 pm, a driver was charged after officers seized suspected drugs and drug related paraphernalia on Lock Street, Dunnville.

Erica WENDE, 47-years-old of Dunnville has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance (two counts)
  • Have Care or Control of Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
  • Possess Unmarked Cigarettes

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 16, 2026.

On May 5, 2026, at approximately 1:00 am, a driver was charged following a suspicious person report on King Street, Hagersville.

Greggor KING, 56-years-old of Hagersville has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Have Care or Control of Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 23, 2026.

On May 5, 2026, at approximately 3:00 pm, a driver was arrested after police received a report of a possible impaired driver on Haldimand Road 9, near Hagersville.

David LOCKHART, 52-years-old of St. Catharines had been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Driver Fail to Surrender Licence
  • Possess Unmarked Cigarettes for Sale
  • Possess Unmarked Cigarettes

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 16, 2026.

On May 6, 2026, at approximately 12:30 pm, a traffic stop was conducted on Main Street in Dunnville and the driver, who police observed earlier that day was placed under arrest.

Dakota DRENNAN, 29-years-old of Dunnville has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Fail to Surrender Licence
  • Drive Motor Vehicle, No Permit
  • Fail to Have Insurance Card

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 16, 2026.

On May 6, 2026, at approximately 9:50 pm, police conducted a traffic stop on Port Maitland Road in Dunnville after observing an erratic driver.

Trevor OXLEY, 46-years-old of Dunnville was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Obstruct Plate

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 23, 2026.

On May 7, 2026, at approximately 7:35 am, an individual was charged after police encountered the driver on an unrelated matter on Haldimand County Road 54, Cayuga.

Jose KUDIYATE, 71-years-old of Caledonia had been charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on June 30, 2026.

Impaired driving - whether by alcohol or drugs, remains one of the leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.
