POLICE SEEK PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN ARSON INVESTIGATION

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) - Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual linked to an ongoing arson investigation.
On Tuesday December 16, 2025, at approximately 6:10 pm, members of the Haldimand County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Haldimand County Fire Services responded to a reported fire at a residence on Edgewater Place in Dunnville.
The investigation revealed that an unidentified individual described as being tall, wearing a hoodie, balaclava, and gloves entered the unoccupied residence and proceeded to apply an accelerant to the interior of the home.
The suspect then exited the residence, threw a lit object into the home and fled the scene on foot through the rear of the property.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the residence sustained fire damage. No injuries were reported.
Police are actively conducting an ongoing investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance.
