INDIVIDUAL CHARGED AFTER FUNDS DISCOVERED MISSING

(MORAVIANTOWN, ON) - The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit is investigating a substantial loss from Delaware Nation at Moraviantown.
On Friday, February 7, 2025, at approximately 9:00 am the Eelŭnaapéewi Lahkéewiit First Nation Police Service (ELFNPS) responded to the report of a fraud at the Moraviantown First Nation band office. ELFNPS requested the assistance of the OPP in this investigation.
Between October 29, 2018 and December 31, 2024 cheques totalling in excess of $600 000 were forged and deposited into the bank account of a former Moraviantown First Nation employee.
As a result of the investigation, Amanda LOGAN, 41 years-of-age of Moraviantown, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Fraud Over $5000
- Use, deals, acts on forged document
- Forgery (14 counts)
The accused was arrested and released on Wednesday December 17, 2025 on an Undertaking with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
