(CHATHAM KENT, ON) - The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic stop.
On Friday, April 24, 2026, at approximately 9:25 am, a member of the Elgin OPP stopped a passenger vehicle in the westbound lanes of Kings Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham Kent. The motor vehicle was stopped for doing 153 kilometres and hour in a posted 100 km/h zone.
A 63-year-old of Mississauga was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform stunt - Excessive speed and Fail to surrender Insurance Card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
Their vehicle was impounded for 14 days and driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days.
