OPP INVESTIGATE A SERIOUS COLLISION IN CENTRAL ELGIN

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) One person was injured after a serious collision on Sunset Road in the Municipality of Central Elgin.
On Friday, March 27, 2026, at approximately 10:56 am, Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Central Elgin Fire and Elgin Emergency Medical Services responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a water tanker truck and sedan at the intersection of Sunset Road and Roberts Line.
The 83-year-old driver of the sedan was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The 48-year-old driver of the water tanker truck was uninjured.
OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team is assisting with the investigation.
The surrounding roads will remain closed for several hours during the investigation.
