TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(CHATHAM KENT, ON) - One person is charged with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in the Municipality of Chatham Kent.
On Monday, March 23, 2026, at approximately 7:32 pm, Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the beach at Rondeau Provincial Park for a traffic complaint.
As a result of the investigation, Magdalena TREVER, a 39-year-old from Michigan, was charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was held for bail and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Chatham on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
