(MALAHIDE, ON) - An individual in distress was safely rescued from Lake Erie with the assistance of members of the Ontario Provincial Police. (OPP)
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at approximately 2:40 pm, Elgin County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious person in the Port Bruce area.
During the course of the investigation, an officer entered the water, and with the assistance of other officers on scene safely lifted the individual to shore. The individual was not physically injured.
