(HOWICK TWP, ON) - The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual following a report of a break-in at a residence in the Village of Gorrie, Howick Township.

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, just after 11:00 pm, Huron OPP officers were contacted about a break and enter in progress. Police arrived on scene and met with the caller. The report was deemed unfounded, and the caller was subsequently charged with the following offences:

Robert DOUGHERTY, 64 years-of-age of Howick Twp has been charged with the following offences:

  • Careless Store of Firearm, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition, - Possession of Schedule I Substance - Cocaine

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on January 05, 2026.
