(WASAGA BEACH, ON)- The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual with impaired driving.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, shortly after 4:05 pm, Huronia West OPP officers were alerted by front desk staff that a male attending the detachment appeared to be impaired and was departing the detachment in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and conducted an impaired driving investigation. Subsequently, the driver was arrested.

Terrence HAMER, a 58-year-old of Tiny Township, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on May 5, 2026, to answer to the charges.
