(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident with several criminal offences following a collision on January 05, 2026, on Blyth Road in ACW Twp.

Just after 6:00 am on Monday, January 05, 2026, Huron County OPP officers responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Blyth Road in ACW Twp. Officers spoke to the involved drivers and one driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation.

The accused provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit. Additionally, a quantity of suspected cocaine was located on the accused upon their arrest.

Xander FIDOM, 21 years-of-age from ACW Twp has been charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired - Over 80, - Dangerous Operation, - Possession of Cocaine

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on February 23, 2026.
