CAR VS PEDESTRIAN COLLISION AT CROSSWALK IN CLINTON

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - A 14-year-old pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle at a crosswalk location on Ontario Street in the Municipality of Central Huron.
On April 22, 2026, just after 3:00 pm, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to a report of a car vs pedestrian collision near the intersection of Smith Street and Ontario Street in Clinton.
Emergency responders located one person who had been struck by a passenger vehicle. They were transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to London where their injuries were deemed serious, but non-life threatening.
The involved vehicle driver remained at the scene.
On April 24, 2026, the 41-year-old driver from Huron East was charged with the following offences:
- Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm, - Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle, - Fail to Surrender Licence
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
