(WASAGA BEACH AND SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP, ON) - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Clearview Fire and Georgian Bay Paramedic Services, responded to a report of a person who had fallen from a cliff in the Osprey Heights area of Clearview Township.

Shortly after 3:00 pm, emergency crews were dispatched to the west end of Osprey Heights Road, where it was reported a male had fallen a significant distance from a cliff edge. Despite extensive lifesaving measures, the 30-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The OPP is continuing the investigation. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest foul play.

The OPP reminds members of the public to use caution when exploring outdoor areas with cliffs, steep terrain, and uneven footing. Staying on marked trails and maintaining a safe distance from edges can help prevent serious injury.
