(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - An investigation conducted by officers from the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of illegal drugs. Two individuals from Central Huron and Waterloo have been charged.

On Friday, February 27th, 2026, a search warrant was executed at a rural property in Central Huron, which resulted in the seizure of over 4,000 cannabis marijuana plants.

Large quantities of cannabis marijuana in various stages of production were seized in this highly organized and complex drug grow operation. The total value of the illegal drugs seized by police is estimated at over $2,150,000.

Lin BINGRON, 43 years-of-age from Waterloo has been charged under the Cannabis Act with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing, - Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling-house (or offer to do so)

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on April 20, 2026.

Jin Long ZENG, 61 years-of-age from Central Huron has been charged under the Cannabis Act with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing, - Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling-house (or offer to do so)

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on April 20, 2026.
