DRIVER AND PASSENGER CHARGED AT A TRAFFIC STOP

(SUDBURY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged both the driver and passenger after a traffic stop.
On Wednesday January 21, 2026, at approximately 11:25 pm, members from the Sudbury Traffic Incident Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Highway 17, Sudbury.
The driver, who was also a suspended driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, the driver Kenneth ROBINSON, 53 years-of-age, from Capreol was charged with, - Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving while under suspension
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 3, 2026, in Sudbury.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The 54-year-old passenger from Capreol, who was the owner of the vehicle was issued a Provincial Offence, with a charged of, permit unlicenced person to drive motor vehicle.
