TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES

(SUDBURY, ON) - One person was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences after responding to a traffic complaint.

On Wednesday June 4, 2025, at approximately 9:00 pm, the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 537, Sudbury

The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Michel DEMORE, 56 years-of-age, from Cleland Township, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday July 9, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
