(SUDBURY, ON) - Two people have been transported to the local hospital after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17.
On Monday, February 2, 2026, at approximately 1:00 am, members of the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 bypass, Sudbury.
Two occupants were transported to the local hospital, one with serious injuries and the second person with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams to determine the cause of the collision.
The highway was closed for just under nine hours in both directions to local traffic, between the Kingsway and Highway 69 junction.
