(ST. CHARLES, ON) - Police arrested and charged one person after a report of a break and enter in St. Charles.

On Sunday March 22, 2026, at approximately 7:40 pm, members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence in St. Charles.

An individual had entered the residence of their ex-partner, who was also on conditions not to attend the residence or to communicate with that person.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old person, from the French River area was arrested and charged with, - Fail to comply with Probation Order - three counts

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Criminal harassment - repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct

The accused was held for Bail Court, then remanded back into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date, in Sudbury.

The OPP will not release the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
