(SERVOS TOWNSHIP, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired operation after investigating a motor vehicle collision.

On Saturday January 3, 2026, at approximately 9:25 pm, members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP, responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 69, Servos Township, south of Sudbury.

No injuries were reported, but the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Tharun RAGURAM, 21 years-of-age, from Markham, was charged with, - Operation while impaired - alcohol

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 11, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
