FATAL COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 17

(HORTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal collision on Highway 17 near Bruce Street.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at approximately 10:05 am, Renfrew OPP officers responded to a two-vehicle collision between Storyland Road and Bruce Street. One of the drivers, an adult male from Ottawa, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team, including Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionist.
The highway remains closed to allow for a thorough investigation.
