WEAPONS CALL LEADS TO MULTIPLE CHARGES

(RENFREW, ON) - The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a weapons call for service.
On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at approximately 7:10 pm, Renfrew OPP responded to a weapons call for service in the Town of Renfrew. Officers attended the location and were able to identify the person of interest.
As a result of the investigation, Hunter CUNNINGHAM age 24 of Renfrew was charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with
- Two counts fail to comply with probation order
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
