DRIVER CHARGED DURING BRANT COUNTY RIDE CHECK

(BRANT, ON) - On April 11, 2026, at approximately 12:45 am, members of the Brant County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on Grand River Street South in the County of Brant.
During the program, officers stopped a motor vehicle for the purpose of an impaired-driving investigation.
Marina HAZELAAR, a 32‑year‑old from Brant County, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Upon completing all release and court documents the accused was released with a court appearance on May 21st, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford.
