DRIVER CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING IN BRANT COUNTY

(BRANT, ON) - On Monday, May 18, 2026, at approximately 11:00 pm, a member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Johnson between Hansford Drive and Brant County Road 18 in the County of Brant after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed.
The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling at a speed of approximately, 130 km/h in a posted 60 km/h speed zone.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old driver from the town of Paris, Ontario has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, - Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation. The driver is scheduled to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on the date of June 25, 2026.
