(BRANT COUNTY, ON) - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision on Highway 403 West.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, at approximately 5:00 pm, members of the Brant County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services and Brant County Fire and Rescue, responded to a collision involving two tractor-trailers and a pickup truck on Highway 403 West, near Paris.

As a result of the collision, the driver of one of the tractor-trailers, a 30-year-old resident of St. Thomas, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second tractor-trailer was transported to hospital with minor injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Highway 403 West remains closed between Rest Acres Road and Middle Townline Road, while Highway 403 East has reopened to traffic.
