(BRANT, ON) - On Monday, March 16, 2026, at approximately 3:10 am, a member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on the 403 Highway West, west of Jerseyville Road in the County of Brant after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling at a speed of approximately 170 km/h in a posted 110 km/h speed zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old driver from Woodstock, Ontario has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed
  • Speeding - 50 km/h over the posted speed of 110 km/h Zone

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation .

The driver will attend Brantford Court on April 30, 2026, in answer to the charges.
