(BRANT, ON) - Police Seek Public Assistance After Significant Overnight Damage to Chain-Link Fence in Railway Street Area.

Brant County, ON - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are requesting the public’s assistance following a substantial act of vandalism that occurred overnight in the Railway Street and Market Street area.

Between approximately 1:00 am and 5:00 am, an estimated 745 metres of chain‑link fencing was deliberately cut at each individual fence post, resulting in damages totaling roughly $100,000. Investigators believe that power tools were used to commit the extensive damage.

Given the scale and coordinated nature of the incident, police suspect that multiple individuals were involved. The OPP is also looking to identify any vehicles that may have been parked in or circulating through the Railway Street/Market Street area during the early‑morning hours.

Residents and business owners in the Railway Street and Market Street vicinity are asked to review any security cameras, dash cameras, or surveillance systems for suspicious activity during the above timeframe.

Police are particularly interested in:

  • Any unusual noises, including the sound of power tools
  • Unknown individuals on foot
  • Vehicles parked in the area or driving in a suspicious manner
