(BRANT, ON) - On Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximately 9:30 am, a member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Oakland Road in the County of Brant after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling at a speed of approximately, 95 km/h in a posted 50 km/h speed zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old driver from Ingersoll, Ontario has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, - Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit, - Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation.
