INDIVIDUAL ARRESTED FOLLOWING DISTURBANCE

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - Members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have taken an individual in custody following a disturbance in Carleton Place.

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, at around 6:30 am, officers were dispatched to reports of an individual carrying a knife and knocking on the doors of several residences in the area of Pattie Lane and Cram Street.

Upon arrival, police located a male matching the suspect’s description and placed him into custody. Two knives and a brick were seized from the individual at the scene.

A 43-year-old of Smith Falls, has been charged with:

  • Causing a disturbance
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling
  • Mischief
  • Fail to comply with probation order - two counts

The accused remains in custody, pending an upcoming bail hearing.
