ONE PERSON DECEASED AFTER SNOWMOBILE COLLISION EAST OF FRANKTOWN

(BECKWITH TOWNSHIP, ON) - A snowmobile collision, east of Franktown, has left one person deceased.
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, shortly before 4:30 am, members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene adjacent to Brunton Sideroad.
A family member had located a male on private property and had begun life-saving measures until Lanark County Paramedics and police arrived.
The initial investigation has found that the male had been operating a snowmobile when it collided with a parked trailer. The male suffered serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as a 50-year-old man from the area.
The investigation by Lanark County OPP, with the assistance of a Technical Collision Investigation officer from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.
