(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lanark Highlands Township resident with impaired driving.

Officers while on a R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on Fallbrook Road in Tay Valley Township conducted a traffic stop on Thursday, May 14, 2026, just after 11:30 pm

The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher CALDWELL, 42 years old, has been charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, June 29, 2026.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
