MOTORIST CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(BECKWITH TWP, ON) - - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Beckwith Township resident with impaired driving.
Officers investigated a single vehicle collision on Derry Side Road, in Beckwith Township on Friday, September 5, 2025, just after 1:15 am after a crash notification was received.
The officers located the vehicle in a ditch, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Hilary CLOSE, 57-years-old, has been charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 20, 2025.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
