SCARBOROUGH RESIDENT CHARGED WITH HISTORICAL SEX OFFENCES

(PERTH, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Scarborough resident with sexual offences.
Officers began an investigation on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, regarding allegations of sexual offences in June of 2024 involving a youth.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and charged with:
- Access any child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- Makes, prints, publishes or possesses for the purpose of publication of any child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- Possession of child sexual exploitation material
- Make sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years-of-age
- Luring a person under 18 years-of-age by means of telecommunication - two counts
The male was released from custody following a bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.
The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
