TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Mississippi Mills Township resident with impaired driving.
On Thursday, February 12, 2026, Lanark County OPP received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Industrial Road in Carleton Place. Officers attended and located the vehicle in the ditch just after 2:30 am After speaking with the driver, he was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Disobeying an order of the court
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence
- Careless driving
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Youth Court of Justice at a later date.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
