(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ottawa resident with impaired driving.

On Monday, July 21, 2025, Lanark County OPP conducted a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on March Road at Appleton Side Road, Mississippi Mills Township. Just after 11:00 pm, a vehicle approached the RIDE, and the driver spoke with officers. As a result of this interaction, the officers arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Sheila HUTCHISON, 62-years-old, of Ottawa, has been charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, August 25, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
