SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.
On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Lanark County OPP officers received a complaint from a citizen of a vehicle in the ditch on Althorpe Road just after 8:30 pm Officers attended the scene and located the vehicle.
After speaking with the driver, he was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.
As a result of the investigation, John JORDAN, 60-years-old, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, April 13, 2026.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
